How to make a video file

You can easily make videos on most laptops, tablets and mobile phones these days.

Before you start, you might want to print out our list of questions. You could even get a friend to ask you the questions.

  1. Open the recording application on your device (e.g. PhotoBooth or iMovie on Apple Macs; the Camera app on Windows laptops).
  2. When you are ready, click Start Recording. We recommend recording in a quiet environment where you will not be disturbed.
  3. When you have finished, click Stop Recording.
  4. If possible, give your recording a filename (ideally this should be “your-name–liberating-histories“)
  5. Save the video as a
    • .mp4 (ideally), or
    • .mov or
    • .wmv

When you are finished, send your video file to us via file transfer.
